Fixed Monthly Billing

Fixed Monthly Billing is a billing method where the rate of the rentals is based upon a monthly rental rate and all partial monthly charges are based upon number calculating a daily rate based upon the number of days in the month.

Store Options Settings

In Store Options, Select Contract Processing and then Fixed Month

Active.  Check to on to make this active.

Default New Contracts to Fixed Month Billing.  Check to make this type of billing the default setting.

Equipment Offset Item.  This is the common name of a non-serial equipment item that will act as the offset for pricing.  This should be named something like ‘Thank You’ or some other common name if this is to print on the contract.  You can also suppress the printing of this item using the contract template.

Month Type.  Select monthly type.  If Calendar – Start on 1st is selected, then the fixed rate only applies when the bill out date is the first of the month.  Otherwise, it will pro-rate based on days.

Default Contract Start Time to Specified.  If checked, the system will use the Default Contract Start Time.  This is helpful when time does not matter and you want to control this variable.

Default Contract Start Time.  Enter the Start Time of the contracts if the Default Contract Start Time to Specified is checked.

In Store Options, Select Monthly Billing and then Continuous

Monthly Billing Period Fixed Day of Month

Secondary Billing Period Calendar Month

Equipment Settings

All Equipment should be set with only a monthly rate and 1 Day. All other rates should be set to zero.

The Offset Item should be set up as 1 Event and no rates.

Less than 1 week

Always recalculate the Daily as Divide by month day of the Monthly rate

Time beyond Minimum Default to Next Daily Rate 

1-4 Weeks

Application Use Less that 1 Week

Monthly

Application Standard Month – charge for extra days

Use monthly rate as Calendar for customer rate code All

Always recalculate the Daily as Divide by month day of the Monthly rate
