The Rental Kits function is used to create kits. A kit is essentially a bundle of materials used for one item. A tent is commonly associated with rental kits, as it has many different parts that go into constructing it.
The Rental Kits function can be accessed from:

To Create a New Rental Kit :
Select the New button at the footer of the page.
Domain. The domain lets the system know what store the kit items are coming from. It is used for those who have multiple stores. Leave this field blank if you only have one store.
Name. Enter a name for the kit.
Number. Select a unit number from the drop-down box.
The following are used if you want to add to an existing kit:
Search. Search for an exiting kit.
Kit Name. Enter a name for the kit.
Description. Enter a description for the kit.
Select OK when you have finished entering the information.
Select Cancel to leave the form.
To Look Up an Existing Rental Kit:
Enter the name of the rental kit in the Name box at the top of the form. The system will search for an existing rental kit matching the name you entered. Select the correct kit from the Search list. All the current rental information on this kit will be displayed.
From here you can edit the rental kit in any way.
Use Alternate Rates. Check if you want to use alternate rates on the kit.
Use Rental Discount. Check if you want to use rental discounts on the kit.
Use Inventory Discount. Check if you want to use inventory discounts on the kit.
Use Parts Discount. Check if you want to use parts discounts on the kit.
Name. Re-enter the name of the kit.
Description. Enter a description of the kit.
Department #. Select a department number from the drop-down based on which department that the rental kit belongs. Select the Add button to add a department to the list. See Edit Departments for more information.
Rate Calculation Type. Select the rate calculation type from the drop-down.
Price Code. Enter a price code for the kit. The price code is used in the discount matrix, where you can specify certain rental equipment and customers receive a discount. Default is zero.
Minimum Time. This is the minimum time that rental equipment can be used. This field works in conjunction with the Minimum Charge. For the time period specified in the Minimum time, the Minimum charge will be used regardless of whether the item is returned early. Use the 1 Event Minimum Time to always charge the Minimum Charge and ignore the other rates. Minimum Charge. Works in conjunction with the Minimum Time and is used if the rental item is used for less time than specified in the Minimum Time.
Extra Hours. Rate charged for each hour after the Minimum Charge.
Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Yearly. Rate charged for each period. Rate calculations may vary, but the standard rate calculation would charge the least rate for each scenario. For example, charge the Daily Rate if this is less than what would be charged for the Minimum Charge plus any Extra Hours. Charge the Weekly Rate once the sum of the Daily rates exceeds that of the Weekly rate. This does not apply if you are using 1 Event Minimum Time.
Overnight Rate 1/Overnight Rate 2. Allows for 2 overnight rates and requires a change to the standard rate calculation.
Weekend Rate 1/Weekend Rate 2. Allows for 2 Weekend rates and requires a change to the standard rate calculation.
Holiday Rate 1/Holiday Rate 2. Allows for 2 Holiday rates and requires a change to the standard rate calculation.
Suggested Deposit. Amount for suggested deposit or zero. There is also a system option to calculate the Suggested Deposit based upon percentage of rental.
Last Pricing Change. Use the calendar to select the date you last made a change in pricing.
Damage Waiver. Use the drop down to select the method used to calculate damage waiver.
Sales. Check if you want the customer to be subject to Sales tax.
Use. Check if you want the customer to be subject to Use tax.
ERF. Check if you want the customer to be subject to ERF (environmental recovery fee) tax.
Tax4. Check if you want the customer to be subject to Tax4 tax.
A Warning message is a message that you want to associate with this item and you want to print these warning messages on the contract. Warning messages are predefined and reusable messages.
Select up to 7 warning messages for the rental kit.

To Add Items to the Rental Kit:
These items represent all the parts the rental kit is composed of.
Select the Add Item button at the footer of the page.
Comment. Check to enter a comment. If you want to add an item to the rental kit, do not check this box.
Item#. Enter the number of the item you want to add to your kit. The search field will provide a series of options matching your search. See Search Settings for more information.
Print Line. Check if you want the item checked for print line.
Quantity. Enter the quantity of the item you want added to your kit.
Select OK to add the item to the kit.
Select Cancel to exit the form.
New. Select to create a new rental kit from scratch.
Delete. Select to delete the rental kit
Cancel. Select to exit the Rental Kits form.
Save. Select to save any/all changes made to the rental kit.
