How to change the price of an item

The first thing you need to address following this question is, what type of price change are you looking to make?

There are several ways you can change the price of an item depending on whether you are looking to

a) change the price of a single item on a single contract (so that the price change only applies to that one contract, not to future contracts)

b) change the price of a single item permanently  (so that the new price applies to all future contracts for that item)

c) change the price of a group of items

NOTE. Changing the price of an item will not affect any existing contracts. It will only change the price of the item on future contracts.

To Change the Price of 1 Item on 1 Contract:

1. Go to the Contract you want to change

2. Select the “Items” tab

3. Double click the item that you want to change the pricing for

4. Type a new price into the “Totals” box  OR  Edit the Rates (changing the rates is a more secure option, as the total might re-rate itself back to the original)

To Permanently Change the Price of 1 Item:

1. Go to the Equipment Center

2. Go to “Equipment Maintenance”, located in the Navigation Bar under “Equipment”

3. Search for the item you want to change the pricing for

4. Change the Rates on the “Rates/Taxes” tab

To Change the Price of a Group of Items:

1. Go to the Equipment Center

2. Go to “Edit Range”, located in the Navigation Bar under “Files”

To Provide a Customer Discount:

You can also provide a discount to a specific customer in replacement of changing the price of an item.

There are two ways to do this:

1. Alternate Rates Maintenance 

2. Discount Matrix
